Distressed Metal Rimmed Tags

I just added these Altered Tags to my shoppe at Etsy
and I'm getting a great response so I thought I'd share the process.
They're useful for Gifts, Price Tags, Scrapbooking, Labeling,
any artistic idea you may have.
I didn't take step by step pictures,
BUT...I am including the instructions if you'd like to try making yourself.
First a pic of the "Frenchie" ones
that are too cute for words!
These are ready to create your own designs with...
There are many ways, and materials you can use in making these,
this is just how and what I used....
Metal Rimmed Tags ( size you like), Hot Water, Bowl, 12 Regular Tea Bags, 1/4 c  Espresso Coffee, 1 tsp Vanilla,
Slotted Spoon, Cookie Sheet Lined with Parchment Paper, Paper Towel
Turn oven on to 225 degrees
Take strings from tags off if you don't want to dye them. (If you take off   you can always add your own touches with twine, ribbon, or string later).
Pour 6 cups hot water into bowl, add 12 tea bags, let seep about 5 minutes.
Add metal tags leave in a few minutes (careful~Not too long or paper will separate from metal rim)
Remove with slotted spoon to drain, place on parchment lined cookie sheet
Gently dab excess from tag with paper towel
Add vanilla (this helps with the strong smell of coffee) to coffee, drop a few drops of coffee onto wet tags (this will add visual texture)
Tags will dry lighter than wet but don't over due process, you can always make darker again later if needed, with adding just a few drops of coffee to dried ones.
Put tags into oven for 5 minutes, turn over tags and cook another 5 minutes.
Ovens vary so dry just long enough to feel dry to touch...
Don't  scorch them!
Let them cool and they're ready to use...
Now, if you'd rather not make them yourself
visit the links to my Etsy Shoppe below the pics....
Time to have some fun...
