Repurposed Door Frame

I found this old door frame at a garage sale
and turned it into a great reinvented eye catcher for my garden.
Materials needed...
~Wire fencing, burlap sack, potting soil, sphagnum moss,
   scissors, staple gun and flowers~

Cut a piece of wire fencing to cover the backside of the frame
leaving an opening at the top and staple on. Attach a burlap sack that has been fitted also to the frame. Cut holes in the burlap where you would like the flowers to go. Fill sack loosely with soil. Take plants and shake to remove most of the soil from the root. Gently place through holes (adjust the length of root where needed). Add a little sphagnum moss carefully around the edge of the planted flowers, and at the top....
Water and enjoy!

Venus Says "Howdy" to the Sun

Lake Tahoe ~June 5th, 2012 ~
 6:45 pm temp ~ 34 degrees
A once in a lifetime event happened called a "Planetary Transit"
This was the last chance to see Venus passing the sun until the next transit in the year 2117.
My husband and I were fortunate to be able to use our Spotting Scope
with a solar cover to view, he then used his Iphone and took
a picture through the scope...Quite Ingenious!

Yosemite Adventure

My husband and I have made a pact to never travel on a Holiday Weekend,
but when my brother in law,
George and his wife Sunny and her family,
invited us to stay at the "Evergreen Lodge"
we  broke our rule and joined them... so happy we did!
The family has been going to "Evergreen"since childhood
alot of memories
We stayed our first night at the unique,
 "Groveland Hotel" in Groveland, California.
The hotel happens to have a house guest that never leaves
"Lyle"
He seems to have liked the hotel so much that when he died
in 1927 he took up permanent residence...
Of course the story adds to the ambiance of this little haven..
The restaurant is very good and breakfast is included in your nights stay.

The next day we headed on to Yosemite to "The Evergreen Lodge"
The Lodge is located outside the main gate about 20 minutes.
Cabins, tent camps, restaurant, store, bar, newly built pool with jacuzzi, game rooms, Smores every night etc. etc.
 No Kitchens~No Phone Service
A small refrig and Keurig coffee maker...
One of our favorite places

Here's a couple of pictures of Yosemite in El Cap Meadow
watching climbers on the "Nose" Route on El Capitan
with our Spotting Scope

Quality time with George
